A Great Etsy Find! October 4, 2010

Oh the power of twitter! I found this great stationery store on Etsy and the best part? Blush Printables is run by Jen (@ohsoglam) out of Pittsburgh! Her Etsy store is full of amazing wedding invites for the DIY bride. You can pick from her designs, color coordinate them to fit your wedding, and then she’ll send over a high res image for you to use yourself! You get the best of both worlds – beautiful made invitations at a fraction of the price!

I absolutely love the wine labels! These are perfect to use for table numbers. I love the idea of putting them on a local brew or wine and giving them to your guests in their welcome bags! A great local touch with your own personality.

Make sure to check out Blush Printables on Etsy!

White After Labor Day October 3, 2010

Wear a white dress after labor day? Not this girl! Unless its covered in tulle, crystals, or lace and walking down an aisle in front of everyone I know. I have more than a few favorite dresses which is why I know how hard it is to go dress shopping in Western Pennsylvania. Enter Bridal Beginnning the largest bridal retailer in Pittsburgh. Quantity doesn’t always mean quality but in this case I think it does!

What you can find at Bridal Beginning that you can’t find anywhere else locally? Alvina Valenta, Lazaro, Jim Hjelm, Saison Blanche, and Sophia Toll.

If I was in the market for a wedding dress these would be on the top of my list!

A Little Daily Inspiration October 2, 2010

I seriously have an unnatural obsession with clothes pins at weddings.  Monogrammed clothes pins holding your wedding rings? Pure perfection.

I was soooooo excited to see this wedding because of all it’s homey touches and then I realized – IT’S IN WESTERN PA! All the more reason to check out this Armstrong Farm wedding photographed by Our Labor Of Love.

He loves me…he loves me not..

What better way to cheer up your rainy day then with something beautiful to look at! Mocha Rose Floral Designs here in Pittsburgh offers just that.

I found Mocha Rose Floral Designs while scouring Pittsburgh Magazine’s Real Pittsburgh Weddings section (one of my favorites).  I love their versatility – be it country chic or downtown elegance – their portfolio really speaks for itself. Check out their blog to see some of the real weddings they’ve provided florals for. While I was on there I was instantly impressed with their design studio! Who wouldn’t want to talk wedding florals in a setting like this?!

Marry Me? October 1, 2010

My original proposal story went as so…boyfriend secretly secures job in New York City, purchases apartment without me knowing, suggests we go on a walk through the West Village and then sneak into an apartment building, as we are walking by “our” door he slips the key in and opens the door, inside I find a puppy, some candles, and an engagement ring secured to said puppy with a bow. After my boyfriend convinced me he was never moving to New York City my engagement story went as so…both families go to Florida for Thanksgiving (reality), boyfriend suggests we go on a walk on the beach (I love walks apparently), halfway through the walk we come upon “Will you marry me?” in the sand, we return to our condo to find both our families already in celebration mode since they were in on the secret. It’s like a spur of the moment engagement party! Needless to say I returned from Florida non-engaged and am approaching yet another Thanksgiving…

Engagement story number three? Oh yes I have one…spa weekend at Bedford Springs Resort turns proposal and wedding planning trip all in one! Story number four you ask…the not-yet-fiance pretends to be going to Florida when in reality he is waiting at home to propose. The puppy may be involved again. Later I find out I actually have the next few days off to enjoy my bliss moment – my whole team was in on it even using a fake schedule to throw me off! This was my most recent engagement story…since I came home to find an empty house I’m guessing it’s onto engagement story number five. I quite like that photo of the girl with balloons. Maybe the puppy will be in a room full of balloons.

Is it inappropriate to write your own engagement story? I can’t help that I seem more romantic than most the men I’ve dated (although the not-yet-fiance is the most loving person I’ve ever known). I don’t think I’d want him to go as far as a proposal planner but I won’t lie and say I haven’t dropped more than a few hints about that darn puppy…

How involved were you in your proposal?
