More Bridal Options in Pittsburgh October 5, 2010

Think you can only find your wedding dress in a big city? One Pittsburgh bride proves that’s not true – after trips to LA and NYC she found her wedding dress at Tomasina in Pittsburgh. If you haven’t heard of Tomasina you need to see some of their beautiful dresses!

How vintage and romantic!

How did I hear about Tomasina wedding dresses? After looking to this beautiful real wedding for inspiration. It didn’t take place in Pittsburgh but the Pittsburgh bride did come here to buy her wedding dress so it still counts as a real Pittsburgh wedding!

The bride’s Tomasina dress is just to die for! And look at that beautiful backdrop. I guess I understand why she choose to get married in Idaho.

Real Wedding – Wes & Lindsay September 28, 2010

California Chic

I’m breaking my Pittsburgh rule just slightly. This lovely wedding was captured by Alison Conklin Photography a Pennsylvania based photographer (albeit Philadelphia). The wedding technically took place in California but that should just give all you Pittsburgh brides some solace – Alison travels! My favorite snapshots of the day.

When I came across the shots on Wedding Chicks I couldn’t stop myself – I knew this was a wedding I needed to see more of!

Side note: I have a very real obsession with custom made clothes pins a DIY project will be soon to follow (as soon as I can get my lazy self to a Michael’s for some fabric!).

All photos from Alison Conklin Photography inspired from her profile on Wedding Chicks.

Bedford Springs Resort September 20, 2010

I was lucky enough to enjoy a spa day at Bedford Springs Resort this past Saturday.  I won’t lie and say I have many spas to compare this one to but anywhere where I can sit in an oversized chaise lounge, drink wine, and get a massage is HEAVEN.  I was also lucky enough to crash two weddings….I mean admire two weddings 🙂 I wouldn’t mind planning a wedding at Bedford myself!

Below are photos from Bellissima Photography of one of Bedford’s beautiful weddings.

Talk about a tub you want to spend time in! If you are lucky enough to enjoy the spa be sure to take one of the relaxing bath/massage options.

I’m a sucker for a rope swing!

The woodland theme was a perfect counterpoint to the luxurious nature of the hotel. The combination looks wonderful!

Rainy Day Inspiration September 17, 2010

Unlike most people I relish a good rainy day. It’s an excuse to snuggle up with a good book, blanket, and glass of wine. All things I love.  I won’t lie and say I’m hoping for rain on my wedding day but I wouldn’t mind a cloud invoking color scheme.

South Carolina – Updated!

A while back I researched homegrown honeymoon sites. I seem to be coming across more and more couples that are planning stateside honeymoons and as a vacation-advocate I wanted to look at some locations for myself.  I was so pleased to come across a destination wedding that took place at one of my beach picks – The Inn at Palmetto Bluff. Not only am I obsessed with the location, the couple, the love story, I am quickly becoming obsessed with Christian Oth photography.

The chapel is part of the resort making it a perfect destination wedding location. Your guests can stay, play, and party at the inn!

Another great plus? Cottage rental comes with a bike! What a great way to get from the ceremony to the reception!
