A Great Etsy Find! October 4, 2010

Oh the power of twitter! I found this great stationery store on Etsy and the best part? Blush Printables is run by Jen (@ohsoglam) out of Pittsburgh! Her Etsy store is full of amazing wedding invites for the DIY bride. You can pick from her designs, color coordinate them to fit your wedding, and then she’ll send over a high res image for you to use yourself! You get the best of both worlds – beautiful made invitations at a fraction of the price!

I absolutely love the wine labels! These are perfect to use for table numbers. I love the idea of putting them on a local brew or wine and giving them to your guests in their welcome bags! A great local touch with your own personality.

Make sure to check out Blush Printables on Etsy!

I have an unnatural hatred of magnetic Save-the-Dates. I’m not sure why, I’ve never even received one from one of my friends, but they continue to drive me crazy.

Alright, I’ll admit that a traditional paper save the date card is most likely going to be hung up on the fridge with a magnet. Fine. It’s still not a magnet with you and your beloved’s faces. Above are my favorite save the dates from Wedding Paper Divas. I love the idea of leaving your photo off the save the date altogether. Afterall, your friends know who you are. Still want an image? Try a photo of the chapel or the reception site. Your venue would be happy to provide one and it will give your guests a sense of your wedding style.  Rather be the center of attention? I love the save-the-date with the couple inside of an engagement ring. It’s a really playful way to get your wedding details out!

Obama Didn’t RSVP to my Wedding August 17, 2010

I understand you are the President, Mr. President, but I was getting married. Who knew that the Real Housewives of DC would make it into my wedding thoughts? Well probably everyone who knows my love of trashy TV, but not you readers! My favorite Brit to hate, Cat, has been holding a personal grudge against president Obama because he failed to RSVP to her wedding. He was probably busy at work or something. I hear being the president is time consuming.  I have to wonder though what are the etiquette rules on RSVPs.  I’ve always operated under the principal that you have a two week grace period after the written RSVP date. This may be because I’m habitually tardy at sending correspondence and hate send stamps (HATE). So what are the real rules?

After doing quite a bit of research the only real advice I found was on whom to invite, whether or not to ask your weird cousin you hated in fourth grade, and so forth. So maybe cut your guests some slack and give them a grace day or two, or week. Or if you are my friend let me just email you (yes I know a hand written note is worth a hundred emails).
